A virtual community discussion with Senator Audrey Gibson

Wednesday, June 23rd at 6 p.m. – via Zoom

We hope you will join us to learn more about what’s happening on our riverfront, and how you can participate.

Host:  Senator Audrey Gibson

Meeting Facilitator:  Ashantae Green, Supervisor, Duval Soil and Water Conservation District

Speakers:  Nancy Powell, executive director, Scenic Jacksonville and Jimmy Orth, executive director St. Johns Riverkeeper.

City-owned land along the Northbank shores of the St. Johns River presents us with a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Riverfront Parks Now is advocating for “A Riverfront for All,” a major connected park from Metropolitan Park to the Shipyards with an expanded Riverwalk and paths to the Emerald Trail, McCoy’s and Hogans Creeks and downtown.  We can make it fun for people of all ages, and a central place our community can come together.

Cities across the country have done this successfully, and we can too! But not if our city leaders give our lands away to developers without making the proper investment in a riverfront that all members of the community can enjoy.

Come to see what other cities have done, what our city is doing, and how you can get involved.
